Where does the challenge take place?
When you sign up, you'll get a confirmation email, and on the first of January, you'll get access to the challenge and exclusive community in the SPARK Learning Environment.
This is built with BrainCert, a leading course platform that boasts many security features. The challenge is also built on a back-up course platform in case of any issues.
Is there an age limit?
We welcome musicians 13+. Minors need parental permission to participate, and we take safeguarding very seriously.

Who is The Practice Professor?

What playing levels are accepted?
At SPARK Practice, we're more interested in your curiosity about getting better and leaning into your practice than having a uniform playing level. We usually have players from ABRSM grade 7+ all the way through professionals preparing for international competitions, but also have a lovely community of amateurs, invested parents, and passionate teachers as well.
What if I'm on the other side of the world?
You're welcome at SPARK! We've had students from the USA, Europe, Australia, Korea, and more! You're welcome to join us.

What happens if there's a tech issue?
Last year, we had a huge issue with the course platform that deleted the course partway through the challenge. I did a LOT of research and found BrainCert, the new home of the SPARK Learning Environment.
The course is already fully built in BrainCert, a leading course platform that boasts many security features. The challenge is also built on a back-up course platform in case of any issues. SPARK Practice no longer does business with the previous platform so you will need to make a new account to login to the SPARK Learning Environment on BrainCert.
Do I need to make an account?
Short answer - YES. SPARK Practice no longer does business with the previous platform and all personal information has been deleted, so you will need ot make a new account to login to the SPARK Learning Environment on BrainCert. YAY!
