My 20+ years of teaching, sports coaching, research, and performing brought me SPARK Practice and the Intentional Practice System - now I finally love sharing my authentic Spark again and actually look forward to seeing my projects come to life. S / Self Identity
This is your voice, your integrity, your perspective. Your voice matters, and it takes practice to express yourself authentically when it counts.
P / Performance
How we meet the world makes a huge difference to our lives. Our attitude, our skills in critical moments, and training our nervous system for resilience and to hold big things helps improve our perception of ourselves and resonates throughout our lives.
A / Attunement
Attunement is about listening. Listening to ourselves, listening to our bodies and minds, listening to our relationships (personal and professional). The second part of attunement is figuring out how we fit into our relationships, and finding the necessary balance of leading and support.
R / Rhythm
The way we are available to show up in our lives depends on where we lean in, lean out, rest, and hold stillness. Understanding the essential element of rhythm allows for for optimized presence, and builds trust to work with our system - not against it. Rhythm is a critical element for learning, but also avoiding injury and burnout.
K / Kinetic Integration (& Self-talk!)
Kinetic Integration intentionally brings together the other elements to benefit from the neurological benefits of "blocking", or automating groups if indepenent actions / processes. This could be as simple as getting ready to leave your house or as complex as getting ready for a speech or an important presentation at work. In SPARK Practice, this also includes building in supportive self-talk so your whole system supports you when it counts.

Where SPARK started
SPARK Practice unifies Neuroscience, Elite Sports, Top Musical Conservatory Training, & Mindfulness
I've been teaching, mentoring, and coaching (sports too!) for over 20 years, with students in every phase of their career.
When I started applying the tools I discovered, my teaching and performing transformed and I honed my approach into flexible, adaptable frameworks that work.
SPARK Practice came from my experiences of learning to play three times, history with elite competition in music and rowing, applied neuroscience, and mindfulness.
Applying sports training principles to performance preparation changed the game, but mindfulness was the missing piece that with the other elements leads to consistent confidence and transformative Practice For Performance. I believe that we can have very high expectations and still be kind - Spark Practice teaches you how to be awesome and nice to yourself.
I've also continued to research stress, anxiety, and nervous system regulation, and you can find this work and courses through Nervous System Neutral (SPARK Practice for Everyone!).
Through SPARK Practice, I support motivated musicians, passionate teachers, and invested parents to facilitate a neurologically-aligned converstaion between the muscian, their instrument, their teachers, and their audience.
I teach online and in person, in schools and festivals for workshops and full-semester practice classes, and have several classes available online, with a dynamic, supportive community to cheer you on!
